BCCA VAT Registration

BCCA has applied for VAT registration. This will mean that going forward up until registration:  You will be charged an additional 20% (the VAT equivalent as BCCA is unable to charge VAT until registered) on invoices with the exception of membership subscriptions.  Once BCCA has received confirmation of registration for VAT you will receive a credit note for the extra amount of 20% and an invoice for the 20% VAT element ( i.e. a ‘VAT only’ invoice – which will be claimable as input VAT from HMRC).

After registration: If  you have previously received an invoice from 01/09/2014, an additional invoice for the VAT element will be issued, this becomes payable to BCCA. The amount becomes claimable as Input VAT from HMRC, if you are VAT registered.

As a result you may receive invoices and credit notes, which may enable you to claim any input VAT back. We apologise for the timing differences with these documents during this period.
